How to use the Lorem Ipsum Generator

What does lorem ipsum mean?

Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin adapted from Cicero’s “De finibus bonorum et malorum” (45 BC). The words were altered so the text has no real meaning, which keeps attention on the design rather than the content.

Why use placeholder text instead of real copy?

It shows how a layout will look with a realistic amount of text before the final copy is written, and readers are not distracted by meaning. Replace it before publishing: search engines and users treat leftover lorem ipsum as low-quality content.

Can I get lorem ipsum with HTML tags?

Yes. Tick Wrap in HTML tags to get each paragraph inside <p> tags, or choose List items to get a <ul> list with <li> items. The text is escaped so it can be pasted straight into HTML.
